In Terry Pratchett’s Wyrd Sisters, Granny Weatherwax teams with two other witches—Nanny Ogg and Margat Garlick—as an unlikely alliance to save a prince and restore him to the throne of Lancre, in a tale that borrows—or is it parodies—some of William Shakespeare’s best-loved works.

Meet Granny Weatherwax, the most highly regarded non-leader a coven of non-social witches could ever have. Generally, these loners don’t get involved in anything, must less royal intrigue. But then there are those times they can’t help it. As Granny Weatherwax is about to discover, it’s a lot harder to stir up trouble in the castle than some theatrical types would have you think. Even when you’ve got a few unexpected spells up your sleeve.

The Discworld novels can be read in any order but Wyrd Sisters is the sixth Discworld book and the second in the Witches collection. The Witches collection includes:

  • Equal Rites
  • Wyrd Sisters
  • Witches Abroad
  • Lords and Ladies
  • Maskerade
  • Carpe Jugulum

“A page-turning, extraordinary excursion that crosses genres.” – Daniel Scott White, editor of Unfit Magazine

Marooned in 19th century West, Llewellyn meets young frontier woman Anna. The two become friends and comrades, their fates forever intertwined.

They find themselves together in the prairies of 19th century Texas, the bordellos of Civil War-era New Orleans, to Prohibition in the 1920s, the Great Depression, and the vastness of space.

But can they survive hardships through history, the enmity of their southern neighbors and the Civil War, to return to his home planet and exact his revenge?

Praise:

★★★★★ – “Well written and thoroughly researched, with realistic characters and events. I could not put the book down.”

★★★★★ – “A great story with memorable characters, but to me the most fun was the historical aspect of it. Mari has done her research.”

★★★★★ – “One of the most unusual sci-fi stories I’ve read… I love these books and recommend them completely.”

★★★★★ – “I don’t usually read western-themed books but this book breaks the mold, blending western, historical, and sci-fi / paranormal all into one. It was spellbinding.”

In the era of the original Four Horsemen, there comes a Legend.

At a time when Humans were just starting to venture forth into the Galactic Union as mercenaries, Martin Quincy survived long enough to do something no one else had—he retired.

There was only one problem. He got bored.

After battling aliens for many years—killing aliens and getting paid—retirement didn’t suit him, and he decided to strap on the combat armor and go back to the stars. Along with his old friend Kal, Martin joined Cartwright’s Cavaliers, humanity’s best merc company. Life was exciting!

But he got bored. Again.

What does a ‘Legend’ do when even the merc life gets boring? He starts his own company! Can Martin form a merc company out of non-merc races and stand up for the downtrodden of the galaxy, or has his long string of good luck finally run out? One thing is for sure—with Torvasi and Andori troopers, and a Sirra’Kan princess as his partner, he won’t get bored again!

Knox defends his own.

Space is a deadly business, a truth Knox has experienced first hand. That’s why he’s so protective of his ship and family. So when pirates plunder an impoverished town–a town that’s earned Knox’s guarded friendship–he’s going to do something about it.

Knox knows the pillagers will be back for more, so his town needs protection from any and all pirates, for years to come. Only one way to do that. His friends need shields to keep their town and children safe, and Knox will get those shields. Even if he has to steal them.

Knox devises a carefully crafted plan and hires the perfect crew. He’ll “borrow” from Caravan Suppliers—the Goliath of space shipping—a company that can afford to lose an expensive shield generator. No one will know he was there. Unfortunately, no plan survives contact with the enemy.

Caravan Suppliers has a dirty slave habit, and they’ll kill to keep it secret. When Knox stumbles onto it, he endangers his crew and his family. Will this mission cost Knox more than he’s willing to pay?

From debut author Marjorie King, Maverick Gambit is the first book in the Maverick Universe. With a layered galaxy full of rich characters, twists, and space battles, it’s perfect for fans of Timothy Zahn and Isaac Asimov. Scroll up and get your copy today!

Never look a dead man in the face, no matter how blue his eyes are…

Shunned by the living. Hounded by the dead.
Whoever said being different was good obviously couldn’t see ghosts.

Enid Walsh moved to Atlanta with simple goals. Start fresh, lay low, and avoid the dead, but when a mystical dog arrives and blue-eyed Ollie discovers her secret, Enid is forced to solve his lover’s murder.

The problem?

She’s a waitress, not a detective. Murder sounds like a job for the police, until a conspiracy theorist proves the cops are on the take, leaving Enid pitted against a sadistic killer with nowhere to turn.

She blames Ollie for dragging her into this mess, but she’ll need his help to avoid becoming a ghost herself. Between the massive cartel moving into the city, police corruption running rampant, and a deadly creature on the prowl, Enid and Ollie must put their heads together to survive.

If only they can figure out where the dog fits into things…

Bad Beginnings is the first book in an exciting new urban fantasy series featuring conspiracy, mystery, heart-stopping action, slow-burn romance, and a motivated Belgian Malinois. (Is there any other kind?)

The mission was supposed to be his last.

After more than twenty years in special operations, USMC Gunnery Sergeant Wolf Mathison wasn’t looking forward to retirement when—implanted with an experimental artificial intelligence—he deployed on his last mission with a platoon of Marine Raiders being sent to the Jovian moon Europa.

The USS Jefferson was destroyed en route, though, and only Mathison and three other Marines survived. Trapped in stasis, they were hurled into the outer reaches of the solar system, where they wouldn’t be found for hundreds of years.

Meanwhile, on Earth, the United States is destroyed and a fascist regime rises to power, expanding into the galaxy to plant its boot heel on the necks of humanity. But SOG, the Social Organizational Governance, is not unopposed, and researchers at a top-secret research outpost are working on a solution that will let SOG reign supreme. Unfortunately for the Marines, they’re awakened from stasis at the same time the researchers awaken a threat that endangers the entire human race.

The odds are against them, but that’s nothing new for the Marine Raiders.

Semper Fidelis and Semper Invictus!
