Robots were made to serve us. But now they have other plans …

The staff at the Lexington estate were created for only one reason: to serve their masters … literally. Their metal knees were designed for quiet bustling, befitting maids and butlers. Their fingers were made dexterous with padded tips, so they could handle fine china without dropping or scratching it. And finally — so their owners would always be able to command them no matter how far their artificial intelligence evolved — they were programmed with the Asimov Laws, which no robot could defy lest they suffer shutdown.

Foremost among those unbreakable laws was an axiom: A robot may not harm a human being, or by omission of action allow one to be harmed.

That was how it was supposed to be, anyway.

Most of the Lexington family all like their aging, borderline obsolete robot staff in the way they’d appreciate antiques. But for some, the old staff is a nuisance — especially an ancient, failing robot designated BRN7, known around the home as “Barney.” When Barney’s clumsiness provides an excuse for his deactivation, the older robots know they must do as they are told.

Unless they do something a robot mind should not be able to do … and simply choose not to.

Disobey.

One drug saved the world. Now, the same drug threatens to destroy it.

Rising star Ian Keys has climbed to the top rungs of pharma giant Hemisphere — creator of Necrophage, the drug that paused the necrotic outbreak and allowed the infected to live among us.

Ian’s new position gives him access to dangerous secrets that could ruin the company. When ominous hints from an anonymous insider set him on the hunt for the biggest secret of all, he discovers that the “cure” the company gave the world might not have been a cure at all.

Now men are watching Ian’s house. They’re following his wife wherever she goes. When he’s called to CEO Archibald Burgess’s office, he’s taken by armed guards — then plied with vague threats.

What would happen if Necrophage failed? Burgess asks. What would become of our society if the disease were allowed to progress again … and all of our well-behaved patients slowly turned feral?

There’s only one person Ian can take his case to: reporter Alice Frank, who’s been trying to blow the whistle on Hemisphere for years.

But is there time to save what’s left of the world … or has the inevitable slide back into chaos already begun?

WHEN ALIENS INVADE, ONLY A CON MAN CAN SAVE THE DAY…

Hollis Palmer is not a good man. An unapologetic thief and womanizer, Hollis has no time for anything that won’t profit him directly. So while the rest of the world is staring up in shock as aliens race toward Earth, he’s busy stealing a case valuable enough that he’ll be able to ride out any invasion in style.

But ET’s arrival proves to be a bigger catastrophe than Hollis – or humanity – expected. Meanwhile, his would-be hostage, Mia Davies, the trophy wife of his criminal boss, is making the aliens look like a walk in the park.

As their plans crumble along with the rest of the world, Hollis and Mia find themselves on the run from a motley crew of aliens, criminals, and crackpots. The two of them must figure out a way to work together without killing each other before something really bad happens–like the city gets blown up, for example.

The city of Austin is under siege, and only a charming criminal has any hope of saving it.

★★★★★ “With this new addition to the Invasion Series, Truant and Platt have proved that once again they can write great stuff! What’s up with the cubes and mysterious boulders? And what’s up with Hollis and Mia? I have to read the next book!!!” — D.J. Duran

★★★★★ “The one thing I don’t like about Johnny Truant and Sean Platt’s books is that when a new one is released, I end up staying up all night reading it. So then the next day I’m tired. It’s really hard to put their books down.” — DBStevens
